Based on the results of the poll we posted, we will not be running a round of LBB at this time. We may look at running another round later this year. Also, due to the feedback we received, in future rounds we will be lowering the minimum for vidding - thanks to everyone who took the time to let us know.

There is good news, though. I will be opening a community with almost the same model:

ladiesmicrobang and we will open up a round soon. The main difference will be the minimum length of submissions and a few modifications to the matching process, which will make the administrative side less intensive for us. Stay tuned for more soon!

Hello!

First things first: apologies for the long absence. It wasn't intentional, but then again, these things rarely are. Apologies also for the spam that occurred, it has been deleted and we'll be keeping a closer eye on the situation and may have to disable anonymous posting if it crops up again.

At this point, I am considering putting together a round of LBB for 2015. It would have a similar timeline to our previous rounds, probably with a creation period going April - June or thereabouts.

To gauge interest, I have created a poll:

ladiesbigbang round 2. Signing up is not necessary to participate, but if you'd like to, they are still open for awhile longer:

Edited to add: Our ratios of cheerleaders and betas to creators is looking like we may end up short, so we'd like to especially encourage people to sign up as cheerleaders and betas if you're able!

Other housekeeping:

We're still looking for volunteers. We'll take any help, so even if all you can spare is an hour or two we'd definitely appreciate it!
We have created a Ladies' Big Bang collection on AO3. You may add your projects from the previous rounds to the appropriate subcollections (Round 1, Round 1.5) and the subcollection for round 2 will open when projects begin posting.
We have a feed over at LiveJournal for anyone who'd like to follow us over there: ladiesbigbang.
We have a pinch hitting mailing list (subscribe) where we send out pinch hits for betas, cheerleaders, and complements. Anyone, whether a participant or not, is welcome to pinch hit.

ladiesbigbangchat is a community where all participants (signed up or not) of this challenge can hang out and talk. A little while back we had a subscription meme.

We tried to invite all participants of the challenge (this includes cheerleaders and betas) to join the community, however the following usernames were too long to fit into the invite field:

As we've had a few people ask, we'd like to clarify that if you sign up as a creator, you are also welcome to sign up as a cheerleader and/or beta. As the ratio of cheerleaders/betas to creators is very uneven right now (many more creators wanting cheerleaders/betas than are available), we definitely encourage it if you think you'll have the time.

And the rules on doing multiple big bang submissions (maximum 2) have been further explained to take into account co-creating.

Have both been updated.

Many things have changed (and a lot more specificity added, in particular for all media categories), but some things to note:

The rules on doing multiple big bang submissions (maximum 2).
The rules on doing a big bang submission and a complement for someone else's.
The rules for picspammers have changed.
The rules for reccers have changed: you may use recs from previous sets.
Limited original content creation has been added as a category.
Policy on OFCs.
RPF and real person-based media, as mentioned elsewhere, are acceptable.

The overall rule on using/expanding previously posted content has changed. Each category has more specific examples for this, but the rule is now that no more than 10% of your completed big bang submission should be something you've posted previously.

Now officially the most inclusive big bang challenge ever, y/y? Original content, as it mentions, is being tested out on a trial basis. We'll see how it goes this time and judge whether to continue it in the future (so if you're interested doing original stuff, this is definitely the round to sign up).
