[[ What is a complement? ]]

A complement is a complementary piece of fanwork for a big bang project. In traditional big bangs, this often translates as an artist creating a complementary piece of artwork for a piece of fanfiction. For the purposes of our multimedia challenge, complementary fanworks are not limited to artwork/fanmixing/graphics.

• Post is first-come, first-serve basis.
• No double claiming of projects until all projects are claimed once.
• For the moment (this may change if we find ourselves in need of complementers), one claim per complementer. EDITED: We are now allowing complementers to claim more than one project; maximum 3.
• Anyone, whether a ladiesbigbang participant up to this point or not, may claim a project.
• We will not be specifying minimums for complements, but if you feel you'd like some guidance in that area feel free to discuss with your creator or e-mail us at ladiesbigbang[at]gmail.com.
• A complement may be any medium other than the project medium. (For instance, you wouldn't complement a meta project by writing meta, or complement an icon project by creating icons.) If you and your creator communicate and decide to work out something different, that's okay with us, but for the purposes of this claiming post please only claim projects you feel confident you can complement with a different medium.

And all of this is something Sam Carter thought she'd never have to deal with again. Meanwhile, Cameron Mitchell is just glad he's not being beat to a bloody pulp by a replicator zombie again.

Notes: This story goes AU after the third episode of SGA S4 and assumes no canon after that. Also, this story is written in tight Liz PoV and a lot of it is stream-of-consciousness/not standard narrative styling.

The dynamics of the foursome and their interactions with the Miami crew will be explored, particularly with the intricacies of the Sentinel/Guide pairing of Ziva/Natalia.

Notes: Season 4 forward of NCIS doesn't happen in this AU, as Ziva and Abby are in Miami. Summary: Alex Drake (from Ashes to Ashes) and Angelica Fanshawe (from The Devil's Whore) both have accidents that render them unconscious and they wake up in 1944 in Nazi Occupied France (the world of Inglourious Basterds) where they meet Shosanna Dreyfus, who is living in open hiding under the name Emmanuelle Mimieux. They are taken in by her to work at her cinema. Both of course have a desire to get home (Angelica back to English Civil War England, and Alex at the very least back to 1980s England), while Shosanna hopes that the two English women won't reveal their Englishness to the occupying army. A chance encounter with a Nazi from Shosanna's past leads the women to take action, be brave, and to trust each other.

Notes: This is a whacky but oddly not crack-y crossover of three very different fandoms. I'll be very curious to see what, if anything, can be conjured up for this!

Summary: Superstaress is a multi-fandom, multi-media project for ladiesbigbang, focusing on science fiction and fantasy fandoms. It encompasses five different fanwork mediums to explore and celebrate the strength and wonder inherent in female characters and their relationships with each other, despite the prolific presence of male protagonists and the perception that these genres are made up of male-centric works and don't have female-focused fans.

Notes: The character list is a little overwhelming, but that's because I'm more focused on the multi-fandom than the multi-character nature of my project. Overall, the project is intended to be very much a tapestry of female strength and brilliance, rather than focused on specific women.

Mixed-media complementing: I think vidding could be easily done as a complement, otherwise the mediums I've done would probably be tricky for a complementer to use.
